The Geneva Historical Society began the Tour of Homes in 1965 and since its inception over 340 homes and prestigious properties have been shown. The purpose of this event is twofold: to promote an awareness and appreciation of Geneva’s rich architectural heritage; and to raise resources needed by the Geneva Historical Society to serve the community through a variety of interesting programs.
The 2009 tour features nine homes with vast differences in architecture. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore everything from a former residence for the Geneva Hotel’s employees to an environmentally green home - these two residences represent the oldest and newest homes ever included in a tour. There are also six spectacular views of Seneca Lake, the inside of a new bed and breakfast, a historic barn converted into a lovely home, and a lunch at Fox Run Winery if you choose.
We hope that you enjoy this day, and to that end, each owner has indicated “must see” items in each of their properties. Come and experience a day of discovery in our part of the world.
