The Geneva Historical Society began the Tour of Homes in 1965 and since its inception over 340 homes and prestigious properties have been shown. The purpose of this event is twofold: to promote an awareness and appreciation of Geneva’s rich architectural heritage; and to raise resources needed by the Geneva Historical Society to serve the community through a variety of interesting programs.
The 2010 tour features seven distinct
homes; three from the 19th Century, two from the early 20th
Century and two from the 21st Century. The tour also
includes a 19th Century barn with its lower level converted
into a winery, and a very rare 19th Century observatory. It
is important to note that there are just a small handful of
these 19th Century observatories left in the world, and
Geneva is lucky to have a well preserved one with some of
the original equipment - thanks to John (Jack) Mulvey.
We hope that you enjoy this special tour.
